This Sony TC-D5PROII Stereo Portable professional cassette recorder ships from Copenhagen, Denmark and is in good working order – mening everything works and that all buttons are working.

The TC-D5 Pro II is a highly sought after portable cassette recorder with stereo XLR inputs. Made for broadcast and filmmaking, the TC-D5 Pro II had updated components (over the earlier TC-D5) that met professional standards.

One only needs to feel the metal construction and the solid “piano” key buttons to sense the quality. Sony had a higher reputation of durability over the Marantz systems. The ferrite head in the Pro II contained metal shielding to reduce hum, and the recorder was coated with a camera finish rather than matte black.

The TC-D5 Pro II was the last new model in this long running series. Although similar both mechanically and in appearance to the original TC-D5 the Pro II included upgraded electronics to raise the performance level to that which broadcasters and other professional users would require.
