THE FURNITURE (UTILITY MARK) ORDER, 1949.
The above styled Order made by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor will enable furniture manufacturers in the Isle of Man to make utility furniture and to apply the utility mark. Furniture so marked will be exempt from purchase tax.
To enable them to apply the utility mark, manufacturers must obtain a licence from the Lieutenant Governor and must comply
with the conditions of the licence.
It is an offence for anyone other than a licensed manufacturer to apply the utility mark to furniture or to remove or deface or, with intent to deceive, obscure the utility mark, the identification number or the type symbol. applied to any furniture.
